A community living off grid on their micro renewables from water and sun, and some old batteries. The stream feeding their hydro looks no bigger than your arm. It supports around 10 people living in different households. Most of their food is grown in the gardens and fields. Their harvests are visible in the rows of shining jars and veg hanging from the beams.

The house was a grand old farmhouse, restored with conservation materials, coursed slates and clay paints. It is heated with wood and solar hot water for washing. There are no fridges or freezers. The inhabitants are members of an intentional community.

One year they recorded the community's energy use with astonishing results.
